RE: What to do about noisy neighbors

I will tell you that where I live if it is before 11pm you can make all the noise you want. We have a teen in the neighborhood that has a band play in his garage for hours at a time. The are so loud that I can hear them over the tv six houses away. All of our lots are at least 1 acre in size. Because we live in the county there are no noise laws and the sheriff can do nothing to stop it. If the office is closed I would just advise you to deal with it or move on.

RE: Raising & lowering TC with manual jacks?

I only use the drill once the jacks are off the ground. I use the hand crank four turns each until the camper is high enough to get the truck under the camper. If I had it to do over again I would get electric jacks. Back when I lived in a HOA I had to put the camper all the way to the ground what a PIA. Now I just sit it four blocks high so that I don't have to do much lifting.

RE: Removing topper on TV

Having the luxury of room on my property I built a stand for my topper. I placed four 4x4s in the ground spaced so that I can back the truck between them. I then placed two 2x4s between two of the 4x4s so that when I back the truck in I can lift the topper a few inches and slide a 2x4 across the stand front and back to hold the topper while off the truck.

RE: Next camping trip

We are headed out this weekend and have 5 more trips planned before the new year. Winterizing for us means to pack a few sweatshirts in the camper.:)

RE: State Park License Plates (NC)

I don't want to hijack this thread but I recently sent an email asking why FL does not have a plate for the state parks and the response was basically that they did not have the 60,000 dollars that the DMV requires to apply for one. They also must survey registered drivers to see if 30,000 of them would be willing do buy one.

RE: Campgrounds-Mrytle Beach

Having stayed at both Pirate Land and Ocean Lakes this past May I much prefer Ocean Lakes. Ocean lakes is a very modern facility while Pirate Land appears to have not made any improvements since the 60's

RE: I-75 South - Atlanta to Gainesville - Possible Stopover?

I am not sure of the exit off of 75 but Stephen Foster State Cultural Center is a great place to camp. It is in White Springs FL just north of Lake City.

RE: Whose taking the camper out for Labor Day?

We took ours to Stephen Foster State Cultural Center in White Springs FL with 19 other families. We had a great time. But as usual we were the only truck camper in the group. I am working on a convert in the group though.

RE: How do you carry your bicycles? (other than on the ladder)

We carry ours on the front or in an enclosed trailer depending on our needs for each trip. http://neflcc.com/attachment.php?id=409

RE: Truck bed

I have never had a problem with my plastic bed liner and camper combo in over 6 years of use. Your results may vary.

RE: TC's not allowed?

nny12972 I am very curious to know if the truck camper jacks that failed were hydraulic or mechanical. Greg

RE: Golf Carts in Fl State Parks

I agree that this is bad news. Florida State Parks are supposed to be about getting back to nature. Heck you can't even pick up downed wood for your campfire because it disrupts the environment . Now they want to bring in more traffic and noise. What ever happened to riding a bike?

RE: camper jacks

When I purchased our camper the rear passenger jack had been ripped off when the previous owner forgot to set the safety on the old hydraulic jack. I peeled back the skin on the camper and replaced all the wood in that corner Then installed new Reico Titan jacks. The job was pretty straight forward just take out the old rotten wood and replace with new.

RE: QuickUp Camper?

I have seen this web site before I believe this is a prototype. When I visited this site before I was asked to take a survey to see if I would buy this camper. I answered yes if I was a couple or single since I have kids I would not buy.

RE: starcraft decals

In the past when I could not find a part for my Starcraft I have called them directly and them have been very helpful. In fact they told me that they could provide any part for every camper they have ever built. How many manufactures can make a statement like that.

RE: Check this out

I know someone who has done this and it worked out great he carried his jeep on the trailer. As far as pin weight not a big deal as the whole camper would be on the truck if it were carried conventionally.
